
Jimmy Morgan is a 10th Planet black belt under Jared Carlsten. He started his Jiu Jitsu journey in 2012 at 10th Planet Burbank and earned his black belt after six years of dedicated training. Throughout his entire Jiu Jitsu career, Jimmy has proudly represented the 10th Planet system and has been an instructor at 10th Planet Burbank since 2016. In addition to teaching, Jimmy has competed at a high level, participating in multiple ADCC and EBI Trials. Originally inspired by his passion for the UFC, Jimmy quickly discovered a deep appreciation for the art of submission grappling. His enthusiasm for the sport drives him to share his knowledge with anyone eager to learn. In his classes, Jimmy emphasizes securing dominant positions and executing strategic submission attempts. His approachable and encouraging teaching style makes his instruction accessible to practitioners of all levels.

Eric Castro is a Mexican American grappler and 10th Planet black belt whose jiu jitsu journey began in high school, encouraged by his brother to channel his energy into something meaningful. He first trained at Rickson Gracie’s academy before moving to Ventura, sharpening his skills at Paragon and later joining the 10th Planet system under Eric “Compella” Cruz and Eric Ramey. His first introduction to 10th Planet came at the Burbank location, where meeting Jimmy reignited his passion for training. Now an instructor for the Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals class, Eric is committed to helping others gain confidence, emotional control, and resilience through the art. His favorite techniques to teach include the K guard, back takes, and pin escapes, guided by his motto: "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast."

Tim fell in love with jiu-jitsu in 2013, starting his journey under Alder Hampel at 10th Planet Van Nuys. In 2021, he made the move to 10th Planet Palmdale, training under Jimmy Morgan and sharpening his game even further. A big fan of Jeff Glover and Barrett Yoshida, Tim naturally gravitates toward Deep Half Guard and Crucifix. Teaching is where Tim thrives, especially when it comes to fundamentals and breaking down techniques like a puzzle. He loves blending traditional instruction with ecological learning (a fancy way of saying “we play a lot of jiu-jitsu games”). And if things ever get too intense in class? Don’t worry—Tim will hit the reset button with some mandatory karate moves.

Danny began his jiu jitsu journey in the gi and has dedicated himself to consistent training for the past 7 years. After earning his purple belt in 2021, he discovered a passion for no gi that transformed his approach to the sport. By mid-2022, Danny made 10th Planet Palmdale his home, where he quickly became part of a community he now considers family. As an instructor, he has the privilege of coaching while striving to be a positive influence on his students. With a particular fondness for arm bars and guard passing, his jiu jitsu practice remains firmly rooted in fundamental techniques.

Miguel began his jiu jitsu journey in both gi and no gi in 2016 and transitioned to 10th Planet Palmdale in 2021. He has a passion for half guard, guard passing, and back takes, which he both trains and teaches with an emphasis on moves that work in harmony to address specific scenarios and counter opponent reactions. Miguel believes that true mastery in jiu jitsu comes not only from perfecting physical techniques but also from understanding the underlying principles that make them effective. He views jiu jitsu as an art, inspiring his students to develop their own personal style and expression within the sport.

Anabelle Carroll has been training in jiu jitsu since 2021 and recently received her purple belt. She competes regularly, participating in tournaments three to four times a year. Some of her favorite techniques include the gogo clinch from the rubber guard, an arm bar from the rear triangle, and various high elbow guillotine variations. In addition to her competitive pursuits, Anabelle has been teaching kids' classes for about a year, sharing her expertise and passion for the art.

Rachel Carmen is a dedicated and accomplished grappler with extensive experience in both wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu. She is a two-time USA Grappling World Team member and a bronze medalist in the gi division at the 2025 UWW Grappling World Championship in Novi Sad, Serbia. In 2025 alone, Rachel competed in 14 tournaments and two super fights, totaling 45 matches. She has also competed at the collegiate level at CSUN and continues to perform at a high level in major tournaments and super fights. She has found consistent success in NAGA competitions, winning the absolute division multiple times. In addition to her competitive career, Rachel serves as a Beat the Streets Antelope Valley wrestling coach, helping develop the next generation of athletes. Known for her love for Jiu-Jitsu, the grind of training, and the team and community behind her, Rachel brings relentless work ethic, discipline, and passion to the 10th Planet Palmdale team. She embodies the mindset of constant growth and is always focused on what is next.

Kelly Bolan has been training in Jiu-Jitsu for 3.5 years, starting shortly after her boys began their training. Working full-time in law enforcement, Jiu-Jitsu has become more than just a workout—it’s her outlet and a vital part of her personal and professional life. Her favorite technique to teach is the head and arm triangle, and she finds great fulfillment in guiding others on their Jiu-Jitsu journey.
